The Juniper Bonsai (Juniperus) is an incredibly popular evergreen conifer, highly valued for its dense, scale-like foliage and exceptional versatility for dramatic styling, including jin (deadwood) and shari (stripping bark). While Junipers are hardy outdoor trees that tolerate some watering neglect, they are often considered intermediate difficulty because they require consistent, bright outdoor sunlight, and improper pruning or letting the root ball dry out completely can easily lead to irreversible die-back.
