Japanese Deshojo Maple (Acer palmatum 'Deshojo') is specifically developed for its spectacular spring foliage, which emerges in brilliant scarlet before slowly changing to green for the summer. Care requires placing the tree in strong morning sun to maintain the intense spring colour, but shielding it from harsh afternoon sun which can scorch the delicate leaves, with careful, consistent watering being vital to its health.
