Chinese elm bonsai trees can be grown indoors and outdoors. However, they do require winter protection and a small amount of maintenance to fully thrive. Very fast growing and forgiving. A great place to start and learn the ancient art of bonsai.
Chinese elm were one of the first bonsai trees to arrive in Europe from Asia.
Summer: cool indoor/outdoor
